I’ve heard of an adult guy flower-person.  It was in a wedding where the husband was a puppeteer, and it made for some great photos…  I think it would need to be a very whimsical and outside the box kind of wedding to work!

I believe on my "Worst job you’ve ever been given at a wedding?" post someone described two 20 year old flower girls.  The general reaction was "You would have to kill me first."  I know I’d be looking for a rope…

I agree with doctorgirl, it might work in the right type of setting.

No…I think it’s weird though.  Why not make her a bridesmaid!?

Sounds weird to me. Is this for your wedding?

My first thought was "Why not? Could be cool!"

It probably reeeally depends on who the flower woman is and whether or not she would be offended by this!

My first thought- I would turn down that position if someone asked me to do it!

I’ve seen a picture (I think it might have been Our Labor of Love blog)where they had a guy throwing petals. It made for a kick*ss picture but I agree, it has to be the right setting with the right people.

My FMIL suggested I do this since we’re not having children in the wedding. She wanted my SIL (BIL’s gf) to be it. To make him feel that she was included. I found it weird/odd so I made her one of my bridesmaids instead. FMIL never brought it up after that. I get along with SIL so it worked out for me and got brownie points with FMIL.

UPDATE: Oh yeah! is that link doctorgirl posted!

Not sure from your post if this is for your wedding or not, but if it is and this is just a matter of including her, have you considered other options — like having her do a reading or act an usher?

I agree with Cherry Pie – why the heck not? As long as she is happy with it/wants it, and it isn’t going to make you or the groom upset…

This is kind of along the same lines as having an adult male ring bearer….no, not just having the best man hand the groom the rings, but having an actual adult guy walk down the aisle with the 5-year-old flower girl.  My fi was said adult ring bearer and while I was skeptical and almost embarrassed for him at first, it turned out to be cute and everyone got a kick out of it.  So more power to the adult flower girl!
