I would definately go with the double. The amount of time it will save you if you go back to work will be a life saver. Even if you don't end up going back it would stink to have to pump for 45 minutes if for some reason baby doesn't latch well or you decide to pump and bottle feed.
@mrskesslertobe: Yay! Thank you! I was wondering if I was being excessive.
Not excessive at all, pratical. I think I had atleast 6 bottles, that way I wasn't always having to clean them just to go pump. I know a lot of people have 2 of the complete set ups-breast shields and filanges (sp/), I didn't at first and had to wash them all the time and then finally broke down and got an extra set one day when I forgot a piece at home and couldn't pump.
Now I'm in the Medula vs Ameda debate. Is the $100-plus difference worth it?
I love my ameda pump. I know most people tend to go with the medela but after a lot of research I decided to go against popularity and went with Ameda. I think it works great and it's super easy to clean after using.
I've used ameda and hygeia. Personally betwen medela and ameda I would go with the ameda. That seems to be the consensus among moms in my mom group too.
I had the Pump in Style and thought it was great. Their customer service is amazing. I also rented the Symphony (the hospital grade pump) when I was on maternity leave and still seeing if the whole breast feeding thing would work out and if it weren't thousands of dollars I would have seriousy bought it.
I had the Medela one. And most definately do double pump. I had to pump the first month of little man's life due to he was early and in the NICU unit. The double pump saves time...

Although I will likely not be going back to work during the first 6 months, there is a slight chance that I may after 4 months.
I want to get an electric breast pump no matter what, but I'm trying to decide between the single and the double.
Advice?
