Hi bee’s, I’m looking for some advice. Let me give you the whole concept first. We will be having a wedding cake. However, we wanted to do a variety of cupcakes to give as favors. The groom is Australlian so we want some cupcakes that reflect treats that they love i.e vanilla slice cupcake, tim tam cupcake and espresso martini cupcake, the American cupcakes will be apple pie cupcake, reeses pb cupcake and smores cupcake. Because we have a variety we want the guests to have fun with it and pick out the cupcake that they want rather than box it up and put it on their place setting. However, my fear is that as with a lot of favors , people might forget to grab them. So here is my question.
Do you think that it is cheezy to put the empty favor box on their place setting with a little thank you note inside and asking them to go select the cupcake of their choice?
Thanks in advance!

Jules725: Why don’t you have them pre-boxed on a table with the flavors labeled and invite them to pick up the flavor they want?

I don’t think it’s cheesy, but I think you may still have a number of people who will forget to grab them.

Jules725: Place the favor table right beside the exit door.

Jen041815: +1 I like this suggestion.
Jules725: I also agree with PPs that they may still be forgotten. As long as that doesn’t bother you, offer them anyway. We did cookie favors that my mom had made, put them by the exit door and everything, and I think 80-90% of people didn’t grab them.

I would probably just go ahead and box them up and put them at people’s seats. That minimizes the chance that they’ll forget to take them (or just eat them during dessert). People can always trade if they want a different variety.

Jules725: I do not think it’s cheesy at all to have the empty box at the table and let them choose.
We have our cake pops as our favors- there were different flavors, and not labeled. They were set up on a table that was sort of by the door. It wasn’t actually by the door- but our wedding was in a mansion, it the main hall you must walk down to get the door- there was a big, wooden table. There was also a little chalkboard that said “take one”- it said more than that, I just don’t remember. People like gourmet treats- no one forgot to take them, I promise- and they were much smaller than a cupcake. As a matter of fact, there were only five left at the end of the night- and we ordered plenty extra.

MrsEME: Awesome! Thank you for easing my mind. I’m getting more and more excited as the ideas are coming together.
