I didn’t want to micromanage my bridesmaids, but I wish I had told them a few more things. You know what they say about when you assume…
1. Don’t hold the bouquet right in front of your chest! It looks pretty awkward in the photos. Also, smile when you’re walking down the aisle.
2. If the bride gives everyone matching jewelry at the rehearsal dinner, she probably wants you to wear it.
3. DON’T WEAR A HOT PINK BRA!
One of my bridesmaids wore a hot pink bra with a navy dress. Luckily, you can’t see it in any of the formal photos, but definitely can in all of the ones at the reception!

lol yikes about the bra- thats just not very good common sense.
You are a very nice bride for not micro-managing your BMs. After being a micro-managed BM i am making my own vow to be very nice to my maids and try not to be a zilla 😀

What!!! #2 and 3 – just, wow. Sorry your bridesmaids were clueless! As for #1, that is a very common problem for bridesmaids and brides alike. As a bride, I had lots of advice to keep my bouquet lowered (they say to rest it against your pubic bone) which I mostly heeded, but the thing was so heavy that it was just easier to carry it higher up on my chest most of the time. No one gave that advice to my bridesmaids though, and while I disagree in that I don’t think it looked awkward, it did make it hard to find a photo where you can see the pretty neckline of their dresses.

Good, I’m glad you don’t think it looks awkward. It looks fine in the group photos…the walking down the aisle ones are a little funny though.

That’s really good advice… if I may.. here’s another one. Please don’t chew gum, its very distracting and very unattractive with a video camera.

I grilled my bridesmaids about the bouquet holding for weeks before the wedding.
But it’s been a big pet peeve of mine, so I might have gone over the top with that 🙂
