This isn’t specifically a baby question, but I wasn’t sure which category to put this in…
I bought Baby’s First Christmas ornaments for my neice and nephew this year for Christmas, but FedEx lost the package and the babies never got their gifts. My question is:
Should I buy another ornament since it is after Christmas (in hopes that it will be a keepsake) or buy another gift?

I would send new ornaments, explain the situation, and include “I wanted to make sure they had these as keepsakes.” I think the parents would understand the situation.

🙁 You definitely could do either. Agree with above!

I would buy a different gift unless you have the OK of the parents. I know new parents can be very picky when it comes to baby’s ‘first’ anything. Personally I want to buy my baby’s first (insert object/sentiment).

My neice has a 15 year old mom and 18 year old dad, so I doubt they thought to buy anything. My mom never got us ornaments or anything keepsake, so I’m sure they didn’t for the grandkids either.
I think I might end up sending a toy or something that they can play with over the next few months.

Years ago I started a tradition of buying ornaments for my nices and nephews. Each year I buy an ornament that reflects their current interests. They are tied to the bow as a decoration when I wrap their main gift.

I would ask the parents what they preferred. Chances are, they may have gotten a small handful of Baby’s First Christmas ornaments and they might like something a little more individual.
My brother-in-law just bought us this for our daughter’s birth, and it’s really charming:

I just ordered them interactive/learning toys. I figured they could could play with them for the next little while. Esp. my nephew who is only 1.5 months old, I bought him a little plush giraffe that lights up/plays music.
