Honeybunch:  hey, im in the exact same position and you!!! I was so nervous i did not even consider it (im UK aswell). The girls on here told me to ask for more pictures etc. my mum said we should skype with the seller just to feel a bit more confident. We skyped jesterday and she was so nice! And got to see the dress up close!

you will be safe if you pay through paypal or escrow. I think we are going to do escrow to be safe. Have you had anymore contact with the seller? Are the helpful and answering your questions?

im not sure about VW sizing but i will see if i can find anything for you and let you know okay. Hope i helped a bit. I know you must be nervous believe me i feel exactly the same! But if you feel at ease with the seller it may help x

Honeybunch:  I don’t know if the seller will go for this, but maybe you could pay half before they send the dress and half after it arrives? I agree with PP about using PayPal.

I would also request that they lie about the value on the customs form. I got my dress online and it was mailed from China. I didn’t have to pay any customs because the said the value was much lower than what I paid for it.

Honeybunch:  im getting a lazaro, yes it is quite alot. I actually had not even thought about custom charges! I must check that out! On preowned they explain the safe ways to pay. They suggest paypal or escrow. escrow is an american thing but i think we can still use it aswell. No problem for chart 🙂

im going to see if there is a way we can figure out custom charges!

I have bought so many things from US and have never really had a issue. I will speak with the seller aswell see if she knows anything about it.

Honeybunch:  Sure, but you are also relying on her to send the dress. I get what you mean, though!

When they ship it, ask them to say it’s a gift and just write dress in the description. That might help you avoid customes charges, though they might open it and see it’s a wedding dress and charge you anyway.

About the sizing, to be safe I’d by a something that fits your largest measurement (hips, waist or bust) and plan to have alterations to take it in. Always go up a size because it’s really hard to let out a dress by more than a cm, but easy to take it in. Forget about the 6 or 8 or whatever. Bridal sizes are tiny and don’t seem to relate to street clothes sizes very well.

Best of luck!
