I would make outreach….lets them know how interested you are! If you wait all weekend you are gonna be worried about it…….call her that way it isn’t bugging you all weekend!

Definitely let her know that you have an offer on the table – I’m sure things will move a lot fafter that’s that! Send her an email to follow up on scheduling the interview, and say that you’ve received an offer from XYZ company for ABC role and you hope you can finish the interview process with this company before your offer expires on February 14th.

@tiedtogetherwithasmile:  It is very unprofessional for them to “let you down gently” by ignoring you. In my experience, if you have interviewed then you should at the very least expect a personal phone call even if they were not going to make you an offer. It is very likely that they are just extremely busy.

If it were me, I would get in touch with your contact there and politely but honestly let her know you have another offer, that it would be your preference to accept an offer with them, but that you have a deadline in which to make a decision. Force their hand if need be.

 

ETA: I just read your update….I would wait until next week and follow up one last time before the other offer expires. If they can’t get their act together they will lose out on you.

@sillysillybee:  Agreed! Thats exactly what I would do.

Tell them you understand they are very busy, however this issue is time sensitive. Let them know you would prefer to work for them but have another offer on the table that you are entertaining and if you havent heard by “specific date” you will be accepting the other oppourtunity.

@tiedtogetherwithasmile:  I have a hard time believing that…like I said, I find it pretty unprofessional. I mean, these HR people give out shitty news all the time. It really could be that someone higher up is busy and/or wasting time and now they will miss out on hiring a good employee if they can’t get their act together. I would really not take it personally if I were you and the good news is at least you do have that other offer. Who knows…things could turn around next week and you could get the call you are waiting for. Best of luck!
