One of my best friends is getting married labor day weekend of this year and has asked me to be a bridesmaid. She asked me last summer (2011), so I’ve known about my duties for a while. We went to pick a dress & the dress is a Vera Wang design that is fitted and has no room for growth. I recently miscarried, but after my next cycle (which will be soon), we will be actively trying again. Would you be honest with your friend and tell her that you are actively TTC & that it’s a very likely chance that you’ll be pregnant at her wedding? I’m only asking for advice because the dress has been picked and is not pregnant friendly. Or would you just wait it out & keep a secret & deal with it as it arises? TIA!

If she really is one of your best friends, then I would be honest with her. If she has enough notice, she may be able to pick an alternate dress, or talk to the alterations department about changing the dress to accommodate a baby bump (like from a natural waistline to an empire waistline).
Sorry for your loss as well, and best of luck TTC again 🙂

I’d definitely tell her– you’re only going to stress more as the day gets closer.
