Advice on combining a bodice with a different skirt from same maker!!

Carmela:  That’s what I did & although it was a little nerve wracking to not see the whole picture before I paid for it, it turned out great! I worked with Dolly Couture in LA and combined the bottom of this dress (along with the polka dot overlay fabric allover):

with the top of this dress, and added a few custom things like the low back & modified the neckline to sweetheart:

It ended up being the same price as most of their pre-made gowns, but even then it wasn’t in the thousands, I think it was $750 total maybe? It did help a ton that the seamstress would e-mail me every week or two to let me know what was going on, and we had a ton of e-mails going back & forth confirming measurements and cuts. It helped alot that they made me a ketch of the final product to approve (with all measurements) so I would suggest that for sure. Here’s my final sketch:

While it’s not my money, I think you should do it!  I don’t care  for the ruffles on the second dress & can really see why you love the bodice on it though.  Because they are both fuller skirts, I think the dress will still look similar enough, but even better ;]
