I just put on the dress for the first time since I bought it. I still love it, but when I tried it on in the shop I thought about taking it in around my legs about to be more mermaid-like. Should I do it? Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics.
PULLED IN A BIT:
BODICE DETAIL (definitely need to take in a bit, I feel like if I bend over you could see everything)
Now the train is WAYYYY too long for the type of wedding I am doing. Is it easy to shorten it?

your body is banging!!! i love the mermaid look and i think you look amazing in the mermaid style! love your dress too!!

I like the dress as is and wouldn’t make it more mermaidy but either way it will look beautiful. It shouldn’t be too hard to shorten the train but if there is any detail or beading you may lose some of that.

@lilarose: Thank you!
@kaw2be: Thanks for the tips.. I’m really worried about the train because it has tons of detailing. I suppose I should bring it in to a seamstress and see what they suggest. Any ideas on how much time I should allow for alterations of the train?

Yes do it!!! I did the same thing with my dress. My dress has verrryyy similar beading (is yours an Allure?) and I was hesitant to take it in to make it flare out more, but I’m so glad I did!

I’m not sure if i would do that to the dress. Would it mess the silhoutte up? Either way the dress is beautiful and you look great in it!

@Mrs. Fireworks: Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s a Private Label by G LV31.. I’m not even really sure what that is lol but the floor model was on sale at the bridal shop and it fit quite well!

@bump: Sure, I would love to see them!

Go mermaid! It looks so much more elegant and you have a great figure, why not show it off?

I like it as is on you, but the mermaid looks good too.

This is the first time I’ve seen a pst like this, and actually preferred the dress as-is! There is something so graceful about the way it falls, I wouldnt change it!

@crystalrae: You look great either way but I am leaning towards the mermaid! BTW I think the brand is Private Label and that is the dress #…when I went shopping one of the owners of a salon I went too, told me that the brand Private Label is too confusing for consumers so they will be changing their name!

I prefer the mermaid on you.

I’m not a fan of mermaid style and was prepared to check no but as soon as I saw it I thought… YES! The mermaid is super flattering on you!
