    Okay ladies!

I will be attending a wedding reception tonight at a restaurant in Chicago called Salvatores.

I am debating between two dresses.  The first one is more casual, but I'm not sure of what attire I should wear (I don't want to be too dressed up).  I REALLY like the first one, and think I could dress it up with some silver heels...The pic I found online is of the designer wearing it and it looks better on me (hope that doesn't sound bad, but it looks terrible on her!)

The second is a black dress (lower left in pic) I got at White House Black Market---I worry it's too dressy.

    You tell me!

One last question:  If i wear the black one, can I just do drop earrings and no necklace?

    Thanks fellow bees!!

I voted black with just simple accessories - It is always better to be a little over dressed than underdressed!

The blue one looks too casual for an evening wedding.

I voted for the blue... where I come from if you wear black it´s like your going to a funeral... bride and groom won´t be so happy.

But if that´s not important for you, I would allow myself using the dressy one, because it´s an evening wedding

    I hope that made sense!

I'd go with black and have fun accessories! The blue is a bit too casual especially for an evening wedding. I think most places it's perfectly acceptable to wear a black dress to weddings particularly in the evenings.

The black one. You won't be overdressed.

I voted black too - you'll look perfect. I agree with Future Mrs. Martin - being overdressed is always better. In any case, it's a sign of respect that you took the wedding reception seriously enough to dress for it.

Black dress. Skip the necklace--a nice pair of drop earrings will look lovely.

The black dress with drop earrings and no necklace will be perfect for a reception at a restaurant in Chi-town.

Blue!  I'm always for more casual.  Unless it's a super-fancy restaurant.

Either one.  Dress it up with jewelry and hot heels, and you're set!  Have fun!  :)
