Alright bees, So I am making a Brooch Bouquet for Mr. Xrays and Mys big day. I have a good amount of pieces from my family and loved ones who have passed (both of our grandmas are no longer with us and seemed to have a love affair with brooches) but still in need of good fun filler pieces to give it the size I want. I thought I had found the perfect seller on Etsy untill all communication on there end has dropped off the face of the earth it feels.... disapointing. So I have been looking at local antique stores but the prices per piece seem so high! So bees where did you find your brooches at a reasonable price, or are you selling some of yours from your big day?? If so please feel free to PM me with prices an pictures :) our colors are Navy, Burnt Orange, Ivory and Mercury Glass/tarnished silver/pewter. So gold and Silver are great the more antique and off color they are the better!! Thanks again Bees for all your help and suggestions!!!

Department Stores (JC Penny, Kohl's) and specialty stores (Avenue, Dress Barn), Thrift Stores (Salvation Army). I even used the rings with the stretchy bands. I started to make it myself but it didn't look good so I got someone on Etsy (Noaki) to finish it - I love it!!!!

I know some Bees got brooches on Ebay. Someone got a whole load of them for really inexpensive.

I got a ton, id say almost 100, I'm doing silver with gray pearl for my two BMs and colorful for me, from Ebay. Just search Brooch lot. I got all mine from something watches, I don't remember the full name but they were at least half of the ads so not hard to find. The lots are done mostly by color so its easy to find what you want. Some of the really popular ones go for around 50-60$ for 20 or so, and the less popular colors around $20. I kept watch and didn't spend more than $30 on any lot.

EBAY!!! They are the best! I got so many awesome brooches for my bridesmaids dresses and they are super cheap!! Some of the items might take a while to come cause they are coming from places in China but they eventually made it and they were amazing.

My sister had one but instead of getting registry gifts at the bridal shower she got brooches and then had someone put it together for her. It was amazing and everyone loved the shower some pieces had great stories behind them. THe ladies like it because it gave them something speacial to shop for and knew it would be a treasured iteam,

Around here, there are a bunch of cheap jewelry stores where everything is a dollar. I'd get the "filler" from there, and then get two or three large, expensive-looking, showstopping ones on sale at Macy's or Dillards so that it won't look cheap.

Check out Hobby Lobby and Joanne's for some bigger pieces. THey may be a bit more expensive, but they've got tons of sizes and shapes if you need some statement things. Go cheap on the 'filler' pieces, dollar stores, thrift stores, ebay. You can also use rings, and pendants just by wrapping the wire around them.

If you prefer to buy in person, not online check out thrift stores and second hand shops.  Look for jewlery in general not just brooches.  I used a bunch of earrings, shoe clips, rings and necklace pendents on mine because they were cheaper then a brooch.  Once I had them wired and in the bouquet, you couldn't tell what started as a brooch and what was something else.

Check out Goodwill and Salvation Army stores occasionally.  It's never a guarantee, but you can still score some really awesome deals there.

@MissNoodles:  I got most of mine off e-bay. I just set the settings to time ending soonest 1-3$ max price and free shipping. It sorted out all the pricy ones.
