- Wedding: August 2014
My SO and I are marrying in August. We are traveling from Ireland to NYC to marry, just us two.
I did a lot of shopping around and eventually decided to have my dress made via a seller on Etsy (ok I know that sounds a bit risky! But I decided to take the chance). I also purchased another dress, which was actually, originally my perfect dress but in light of us now eloping it didn’t seem to suit a city wedding/elopement.
Anyway, the ETSY dress is the one I REALLY want to be wearing when we wed in August…
now ow here comes my problem (which is causing me major feelings of unease now)
the seller is a girl based in australia, so we emailed via etsy about the dress…. She seemed confident about making it and I told her I was putting all my faith in her abilities….. I purchased the dress in Feb 26th… The last message I had from her was Feb 25th.
I have emailed her regarding my paypal payment ….. No reply…..
i have emailed her her to update her with measurements……no reply
i messaged her via her etsy shop…… I messaged her via her paypal registered email address (gmail)…… Still nothing…..
today I messaged her, explaining that the lack of acknowledgement of order (I have a paypal receipt, but since actually sending the money I have had nothing from her) was making me feel uneasy, I still have heard nothing back (though i will make allowances for time differences etc….)
last night I couldn’t sleep because it was on my mind so much so I explored the etsy and paypal procedures for
“my item didn’t arrive” and “my item was significantly not as described”
this is where another alarm bell started going off in the back of my head… Because, I know this dress is being custom made by hand, she said it would take 30 days to make the dress plus 10-15 days for postage. The Etsy site says I cannot open a case until after March 24th, which is fair enough I suppose. But they also say that the buyer needs to raise the issue with Paypal…. When I logged into Paypal I noticed that you only have 24 days from date of payment to open a case….. This tI me frame is smaller than the actual dress making time-frame!
im sorry for waffling on here girls, but, am I right to be feeling this way? Or should I just relax and wait and see if and when the dress arrives? what would you bees do?? Advice please!!!?!
