I think written thank yous may be more time consuming but always are a nice gesture. thats awesome your co workers did that for you!!!
In my old office, people send out 1 thank you email to those that participated. Sometimes they bring cookies, candies or treat the next day to thanks, but it's rare. 1 email is the norm.
I picked individual thank you cards because that is what I am planning on doing. Most people that we've had showers for at work don't go the individual card route, but I think that with the nice gifts/cash that they gave me (plus hosting a shower!), that they deserve an individual thank you.
I'm not a fan of a generic thank you card or note, although it seems that many people go that route nowadays.
Thanks guys! Cards for everyone seems to be the most popular. There are only 10 people so it wouldn't be too time consuming or anything. Maybe I'll do that.

My lovely co-workers surprised me with a wedding shower yesterday morning!! It was a total shock and I wasn't really expecting anything. People throw showers at my work all the time, but it's usually the larger unit upstairs. I really didn't think anyone was going to do anything for me, but they threw me a small party and invited the 10 people that work on my floor. And they gave me a bunch of cash! So sweet.
So I'd like to thank everyone - but I'm not sure what the etiquette is for work showers. Email thank you? Individual thank you cards? I was thinking I could bring in some baking with a nice thank you card to cover everyone. Ideas anyone?
