We would like to get our apartment carpets cleaned. Besides offering to clean the carpets, the carpet cleaner service also offers protect and deodorize services for the carpets.
I guess my question is, do you think its worth it to get the protect and deodorize services for carpets? And since its an apartment, is it okay to put a protective on the carpet?
Im probably gonna call the main office for our apartments and ask about the protective.
Thanks for the help.
And I just realized that this is in the wrong category. It should be in Home.

It’s probably ok to put the protective on the carpets, but I would call the land lord or leasing office first, as you mentioned in your post.
Were the carpets new when you moved in? If so, I might not worry as much about getting the extras put on. If they were not brand new when you moved in, I would go for it. You never know what was on it/what happened there before you!

Do you have any pets living with you? I live in an apartment that is completely carpeted (except the bathrooms and kitchen), and I would love to get my carpets cleaned. Since the carpets weren’t new when we moved in, though, I’m not sure I would go to a lot of expense to add in any extras, unless I had my cat living here (but I don’t). Either way, I would always ask my landlord before doing anything.

Agree with PPs ask landlords before you do anything other than a basic cleaning.

Thanks for the help bees. We had a dog before she passed and there are stains and things I cannot get out without it getting professionally cleaned.
I will call the office tomorrow because I think I want to at least add the protective, only because my husband wants another dog sooner then later.Plus it seems like carpets get dirty fast even when you take your shoes off before walking on them.
As for if the carpet is new. I have no clue. It doesnt look worn when we moved in, so Im going to say new to fairly new.

I called the leasing office this morning and they said its okay to have the cleaners use a protective. So I think we will be doing that. Im concerned at future stains. lol
