@Shantly07:  One of my bridesmaids (having 2) was in a similar situation. We wanted to keep it as close to $100 as possible. That being said, we did go slightly over. We went with the Bill Levkoff 774, now to buy this from a bridal shop in town would cost $245 (we got a discount since I bought my dress there), however since one of my bridesmaids is out of state I looked online and found them for $150 for her. The dress is absolutely beautiful in person and really good quality, hope this helps:

You might want to consider looking at department stores (Macys, Lord and Taylor, etc).

You will be able to find a dress at one of these stores…..

I’d check the formal section of some department stores! Like Macy’s.

@Shantly07:  Try Rowan Bridal
PO Box 24 Leisenring, PA 15455 USA  I ordered my MOB gown and it was very well made.  I would order from them again.

There are lots of styles that come in plum, and some in eggplant or dark purple.  You do have to click on to get more information regarding size and colors they come in.

These are just some of the styles I found that come in plum.  They range from $70-just over $129.00

I ended up going to David’s Bridal and gave my girls their choice of any Satin dress in Plum. They are not the best dresses, and maybe I could have found something else, but with 4 girls in different cities/states and different budgets, that’s the best I could find.

Weddington way has this Alfred Angelo dress at $115– and with the empire waist, i’d have to assume it is very flattering/ comfortable on all body types. the only thing is that it doesnt have  straps– – i think that is where you will have the most trouble.

@Shantly07:  nope, i selected not to receive any “marketing emails” and I don’t get any. You also get free fabric swatches which is nice so you can make sure the color you’re getting is the one you want.

I wound up finding my dress second hand for my cousins wedding but i’ve only heard great things about this website– may be something to at least play around with to get better ideas of dresses, compare styles, prices, etc.
