@iloveglitter:  I say again, buy out a restaurant that has the look and feel you want.  Will be cheaper than a “wedding” venue.

I’m not too sure of how many Long Island venues will give you under $100 a head for July 2014, but try looking at Douglaston Manor, Stewart Manor Country Club, Sea Cliff Manor, The Metropolitan, Stuart Thomas Manor.

Fox Hollow quoted me $85pp before tax & gratuity for January 2014, so I’m assuming they’d probably be around $120 for the summer, but still give it a try! If you’re definitely set on any specific venue, try negotating for a different time of year.

ETA: Check out for rough ideas on pricing. The lower number is usually close to the winter price, and the higher is close to summer/fall pricing. Good luck!

My fiancee and I attended a wedding at the Webster Grange Hall (right outside Rochester) last fall… it was gorgeous, and apparently very reasonable.

On LI check out East Wind. They have full packages for 10k for 100 people. Also, Smithtown Landing and West Sayville Country Club are $85 pp in March.

@iloveglitter:  Welcome to Weddingbee! I think Lancaster, PA is technically considered Lehigh Valley..? If so, I’d definitely recommend Riverdale Manor. We’re having 125 people, and our reception budget (site/ceremony/staffing fees and catering) is 10.5k (and we’re contemplating changing some things up to bring that price down a little). The venue is BYOB, so you’d probably stay under 10k with fewer guests, even with the extra cost for booze. We’re planning on spending about 1k on our open bar options. Their catering menu is super customizable depending on your budget, too.

The only hitch is that we’re getting married on a Friday, which saved us some money on the site fee (I know you said you were trying to keep that to a minimum). The place is so naturally beautiful, I’m not planning on spending much at all as far as decorations go, either. If you’d like, I can send you my preliminary menu/budget with them.

In any case, good luck! I’ve always loved the grounds at the Eastman House in Rochester, but I have no idea if they allow weddings there (or if they’d cost a fortune if they did).
