Try googling her and her fiance’s names – if they registered, it might come up that way.  Typically registry info isn’t on the invitation.

You could always get them a nice picture frame or photo album for their wedding photos.  I got a bunch of frames throughout my engagement and I’m using all of them now

Do you know anyone that are good at drawing? Or perhaps you are?

I bought a canvas and made a tree (just branches, no leaf), and then at the reception I put it on a table with pens in different colors (autom colors since it was a autom wedding). All the guest wrote something small on it and sign their name, it kind of become a wedding tree, it was not expensive and even today they have it hanging in their house as a reminder of their day 🙂

@Anna10-05-2014:  Does she like wine? I think a cute little homemade gift basket with 3 bottles of wine – one for their wedding night, one for their honeymoon, one for their first anniversary – would be really cute. Maybe $10-$15 bottles of wine? That would keep it easily under $50…

Another thing we would’ve loved that I’ve heard of people giving is a gift certificate to a restaurant. Maybe a $30-$50 gift certificate to a romantic little restaurant in their hometown?

ETA: We got a ton of picture frames, vases, some toasting flutes, etc. and honestly I think we would’ve preferred an “experience” like a restaurant gift card, or a massage, or even just a gift card to Home Depot or Crate & Barrel or something – all of that clutter is just cluttering up our house, you know? On the other hand, when we got back from our honeymoon we were totally broke, so it would’ve been nice to have a special “experience” to do together during those first couple months.
