@MM0506: Hi there! I'm in the SAME dilemma! Nothing is comparable to 632 on Hudson and I'm looking for an affordable caterer to balance out the high rental fee. Have you had any luck?
Bassett Catering is delicious and VERY affordable! They are based out of Brooklyn.
I'd recommend looking into caterers based out of NJ - they might be more affordable the NYC based caterers. Just a suggestion!

cabanagrl9, thanks for the recommendation on Bassett Caterers! I reached out to them and their pricing is very reasonable!! I think we might end up booking them. Have you used them in the past? The only references I could find were from BBQ events....would love to hear about their food on more traditional events....
I am using them for our May wedding, but my wedding planner speaks VERY highly of them and so far they have been really, really great to work with!
My sister hired a new catering company called Mimi's Fusion of Flavors they are affordable, the food is delicious and really take pride on what they do.

Help! My fiance and I fell in love with our venue, 632 on Hudson, and now are looking for a caterer. Problem is, we're spending so much on the location that we are really wanting to get creative and save some money on the catering. We want to do a cocktail style reception, and plan to bring in our own alcohol. Can anyone recommend caterers that provide food/service/rentals for approx $80pp (75 guests)? Or fellow brides that have had their wedding at this venue, any suggestions?
