If you check the destination collection of designers like Mori lee, maggie sottero or even dessy you are likely to find something of similar fabric and style
I'm sure you could find chinese replicas of that or another designer dress like that.
My dress (I can't believe I can say that now!) is chiffon from Alfred Angelo. David's Bridal also has a chiffon dress that I liked!
I wore this chiffon dress from David's Bridal (although the model pic does it no justice):

ETA: Since the model picture isn't so great, here is pics of me in it. Real bride photos are always better, IMO.
Thanks for the suggestion bells! I've actually looked through all of those galleries already and haven't found much with the neckline I want, but I appreciate it!
Miss Tattoo, your dress is GREAT! I have definitely added it to my try-on list :)
FutureKMM, how do you think that dress would work with straps added? I'd wider straps like the Freya, but I don't want any additions to look like afterthoughts, you know?
Also, I don't want to do the knockoff route for many reasons, the main one being that I NEED to try things on. I never shop online for clothes, and I don't plan to start now hehe.
I LOVE this new one from DB, it has a lot of the same elements...flowy chiffon, straps, and the "bandaged" waiste. I wish they had this in stores when I was shopping.

eta: I wore the same gown as KMS

This is the DB chiffon dress. It was really light and the back is REALLY pretty! And I'm a DDD cup!
Oooh I love that missrobots! Thanks! How new is it? I don't remember seeing it when I looked a month ago.
@missrobots: Ohh! That new DB one looks like a great fit for what the OP is looking for!
@Miss Tattoo: That's the dress I wore! I loved it! Although you look fantastic in the dress you chose too!
i fell in love with this dress when i first started collecting ideas - it would look really cute with some cap sleeves and i believe the bow is removable
I believe it was a Watters dress, maybe in the wtoo collection
this is part of their new collection and i love it!
It's brand new. It's under their "new arrivals" section.
Yes, I still look at new wedding gowns even though I've been a wife for 2.5 months now. LOL.
Miss Tattoo, I'm a DDD as well, so that is very reassuring :) I will definitely be trying both of these David's dresses on!
Once you know that its your dress, sign up for the Sample Sales via NYMag. I was lucky to find my Gurl online via yourdreamdress.com but I was ready to fly to NYC to buy my dress. I know you don't want to shop online, but once you know your size and you can get it @ a discount, I would give it a go. Check out oncewed.com, recycledbride.com, and preownedweddingdresses.com.
Also there is Chruch Street Bridal in Virgina which Sales samples @ a huge discount.
Good Luck!!!!
totheislnds, those are both so pretty! Thank you! (and I would indeed remove that bow hehe)
Missrobots, I am not even slightly mad at it - wedding dresses are just so pretty :)
@sarahbabs: I'm a 36F so that chiffon DB dress certainly works well for us bustier ladies.
You guys are right - the model does not do that DB dress justice! It looks so much better on all of you :)
And squeak, thanks for that site - I will definitely check it out. And I have been keeping an eye on Church Street as well!
I love that dress. It is beautiful! Have you called anywhere to ask what the cost of the dream dress actually is? I got a Pronovias ballgown and it was around $1000. They are way more affordable than they look. Even if that particular gown is pricey, you may want to check out some other Provonias styles. Sullum's Bridal in Olyphant, PA has great prices on Pronovias dresses, you may want to give them a call and see what their price is.
Aww thanks pengolala! I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but man I am just in love with it. The shoes in your avatar are awesome too :)
Lovely dresses everyone...and I love your dream dress OP :) Thought I'd just show you some from J Crew. They have a couple chiffon dresses that are super reasonable, so you could get something like a beaded belt if you wanted more sparkle!

@Mrs.KMM: lol it's not hard to see why not! It's a very beautiful dress! Seriously it feels like you are floating when you are walking. I stepped down off of the platform thing to go walk around and it was very ethereal. Seriously.
@sarahbabs: In that dress, I didn't feel like my girls would pop out. In other strapless dresses, the dresses were so heavy, I felt like I would be pulling up the dress all night even if it was in my size.
Thats a great tip nrf! I will definitely try that - its from a past season, so maybe a discount is a possibility?
Also, FutureKMM, thanks for including your ETA with your pic - SO much prettier than in the DB pic! The more real brides I see in it, the more I like it :)
Thanks Nautical! I am currently on the upper end of J Crew's size range, and though I'm definitely planning on losing some weight before my wedding (over a year from now), I don't know if my boobs will go down enough for their stuff. I've heard their dresses aren't the most generous in the chest - does anyone here have experience with their fit in that area? Hehe
have you looked at san patrick? they are pronovias's less expensive line:

Regenta:
daimiel;
Agerard, I had never heard of it, but OMG I LOVE that first one!!! Thank you so much for the tip :)
@sarahbabs: Yeah you're right about J Crew and bustiness. While I'm a street size 6 or so, I'm pretty busty, and I did try on a couple J Crew dresses. Their chiffon dresses actually gave plenty of room, it was their more structured dress, like the one with rosettes, that literally made it so I couldn't breathe because it was so tight on my dress..and it was a size 8. It may be worth just trying them on. I was pretty impressed by their quality.
@sarahbabs: La Sposa is another less expensive line by Pronovias that might have other affordable chiffon options for you!! I tried both lines on locally and couldn't tell the difference between quality. ;)
Thanks! I am hoping to lose a bit of weight before I start trying things on - the fiance and I just started working out last week and have been doing a pretty good job sticking to it thus far. When I do, I'll keep that in mind :)
boombacha, I'll check that out as well! Also, congrats on getting yoru dream dress from Church! I saw the pics and it is pretty :)
The bustline of your dream dress reminded me of this AA one. But it's not as flowy..
@sarahbabs: Aww...thank you so much! I am expecting her tomorrow and won't be able to sleep all night, I am sure! :)
Boombacha, I don't blame you! LOL I can't wait to see pics :)
Angela, that neckline is pretty! I am not a fan of taffeta, but I appreciate the suggestion. Times like this, I really wish I could sew.
I would personally be afraid to buy something from another country - sometimes they turn out ok, sometimes it is awful. Regardless, it is never a 100% copy of what you are looking for. I found my dress at Nordstom. They had dresses in the $200+ range. You can view most of them on their website. :)
Oh, boycesgirl, you probably didn't see above, but I'm not planning on it.
Thank you for all the suggestions so far bees, and feel free to keep em coming - this is so fun!
If you really want affordable, Ann Taylor has a similar dress (big straps, silk chiffon) on sale for $199 and is currently taking 50% off all sale. It's not online above a size 2 but you could prob. call and get htem to find yone in your size in a store. I saw the dress when browsing their sale this morning and it is pretty similar to you dress.
Thanks slicey! That is amazingly affordable, and I LOVE the pleating on the skirt, but I can't really do v-necks - my boobs would just not be wedding appropriate in that, at all lol. I appreciate the suggestion though!
La Sposa Damiel $1,123.70 on bridalgown.net and $1,431.00 on bestbridalprices
La Sposa Dacio $1,242.00 on bestbridal prices
Mon Cheri Rhiannon with detachable spaghetti and halter straps $848 at House of Brides

Hey all you lovely bees! I'm in the early stages of dress shopping (i.e. just collecting ideas), but I have a good idea of what necklines look the best on my very busty chest. Elie Saab for Pronovias pretty much designed my dream dress "Freya" [below], but there's no way I could ever spend $3000+ on a gown, no matter how much I love it.
I'd love to tap your vast dress knowledge for similar suggestions, preferably <$1500. I am leaning towards a chiffon or tulle skirt, but I am open to other materials. Thanks SO much!
