Hey, I sent you a message with some wedding advice that may help planning your wedding. It is completely doable with your budget, it just all depends on what you want your guest to remember about your big day and what is important to you!
I am finding the same thing out. :( It doesnt seem to be for large weddings or under the budget we have set. One venue I fell in love with was 5k just for the place. Any help is much appreciated!
I am right along with you ladies. I am considering a small wedding in Savannah, on a tight budget. I am a wedding photographer myself, so I have got the photo part down, but I need help getting everything else together.
Hey ladies! I have some new information for you that you may not know about. It is totally possible to do a cheap wedding in Savannah! My favorite place for weddings on the cheap is the River Street Riverboat Company! Yeah, yeah I know you were thinking cathedral, park, beach - the list goes on. BUT the River Street Riverboat Company has lower rental rates than most venues in Savannah only ($400-$1200 max) it just depends on the number of people. Plus they have NO Food and Beverage Minimums like hotels/resorts do.
Thinking of a brunch wedding? $41.95 per adult for a 2 hour cruise reception and FULL brunch buffet. Thinking lunch time? $38.95 per adult. Dinner reception? $59.95 per adult inclusive of all sales tax, port fee, service charge everything! They can do everything for you. You have an event planner for the day that leads your rehearsal the day before plus your ceremony and reception the day of. It includes the cruise + food and beverage + linens (on the Georgia Queen) + your own DJ. You can also add on a floral wedding arch, have the boat captain to officiate, add bouquets/boutonnieres, add the cake... etc. All you have to do is show up and bring the photographer.
Already have your wedding venue? Why not have your rehearsal dinner on the Riverboat the night before.
They are located at 9 East River Street, Savannah, GA. And have been a centerstage attraction/venue on River Street for 21 years now.
Visit www.savannahriverboat.com or visit them on Facebook at "Weddings on a Riverboat" to see all kinds of pictures of the boats and their events!
P.S. - A great DJ in the Savannah area is Mr. Pat Piccone. Email: PPicone@wjcl.com. also, if you want something a little different, I used Adam Komesar aka "Simply Sinatra" out of Atlanta for my own wedding. He is AMAZING and travels but he is pricey.
@meggo623: Hey! Did you ever figure out where to get married etc in savannah? I saw this post on the very dead Savannah page. I am getting married the day after you at Forsyth Park! :)
I would love to know what you are doing.

Hi all. My fiance and I finally picked Savannah as our destination for our wedding because we got enaged there.
So it seems Savannah is a little more expensive than I thought...Of course I am super cheap. So my question is...Is it possible to have a wedding in Savannah for less than $10K? I would prefer to spend less than $8K honestly, but we'll see. Anyone here do a Savannah wedding on the cheap? Also, any brides here who planned the Savnnah wedding from afar without hiring a wedding planner?
