The Antique Rose Emporium in SA has weekday rates that are under $2,000 many venues will discount a rental on a Monday thru Thursday so try that option when you shop around
Ooh me! I'll actually probably be getting married in Dallas, but I have a list of some places (in SA) that seemed to be priced a bit better than most so maybe you'll see something you like:) Some on this list are more pricey, but a lot of them are nice. I really think Kohler House has some potential.

I just booked my wedding at Zedler's Mill in Luling, and the place is fantastic! Only $1000 for a weekend or $500 on weekdays, tables and chairs included, GORGEOUS stone amphitheater by the river for the wedding and a pavilion for the reception with garage-style doors you can open in nice weather, huge kitchen, bride's room... this place has EVERYTHING.

Also check them out on Facebook for some more pix of real weddings.
Also, my fiance's name starts with a "Z" so the place looks custom-built for us! lol

I've been looking for venues in the New Braunfels all the way up to Austin area for a while. My finace and I would like outdoor with an indoor option. We're also not opposed to offseason and Friday/Sunday dates. Our venue budget however is around 1500 but everywhere we've seen is at least 2,000 or so. Does anyone have any ideas on parks or other maybe non-traditional "wedding venues" that can be used. It's a small ceremony(50ish) so we just don't want to spend 2,000+ on the venue alone.
