    Hey everyone,

I am having a horrible time trying to find wedding venues in Columbus. All of the places I have liked are either not willing to allow us to have my fiances family restaurant cater our event, or they are just way too expensive. We would LOVE to have our wedding downtown and our vision is urban and modern. We currently have approximately 250 guests. I would ultimately love to have the wedding reception at the Hyatt Regency, they have not contacted me with a quote yet but I am almost certain it is going to be extremely expensive (sadface). Does anyone know of any affordable places that match my vision of my perfect wedding and allows outside caterers? It would mean so much!

I'm going to move this to your local board so you get a better response.

P.S. I'm an Ohio girl, too! Welcome! :)

The only downtown location that I looked at and really liked was The Columbus Athletic Club. It was gorgeous but they don't allow outside catering. The other two I looked at downtown were the Greystone Wine Cellar (also no outside catering and kinda looked like it was just somebodies basement) and the Athenaeum. I can't remember if they allowed outside catering or not but they were the most affordable of the downtown locations and the were a Knot Pick.

Don't know if that helps or not, hope you find something, I'm a Waiting Bee planning here in Columbus, PM if you want to know about anywhere else I looked at!

I looked at a bunch of different venues and the only one I really remember allowing you to bring in your own food was grand valley dale ballroom...which is kind of the total opposite of urban and modern vision, and it's near the airport not downtown.

Try the North Bank Pavillion. It isn't too expensive and it is part of the Columbus parks :) I have been searching like crazy myself. My problems are the same except I want something with a more rustic feel and I am on a VERY small budget :/
