You may want to look into Landis Super Market. They are in Sellersville I believe?? And they have an in-house wedding cake baker and decorator. My girlfriend is using them for her wedding (which is in a few weeks in downtown Philly) and if I like what I see, then I may likely use them as well. I called to get an initial quote and they said for a 150 person wedding, it will be roughly $500 including tax and delivery for my wedding on the Main Line.
I got mine from Brown Betty Bakery. Their cakes are out of this world, but my word of caution is that the woman we dealt with, Norrinda, has been very difficult to get in touch with. But the cake is good enough to make it worth it.
Mmmmmmmmmm Brown Betty. *makes Homer Simpson drooling noise*
They are right around the corner from me. It takes a lot of willpower not to stop there every day. Adeline is right. The cake is amazing.
I'm just having a bridesmaid make cupcakes for my wedding, but I can recommend an old coworker of mine. She doesn't specialize specifically in wedding cakes, but she can make ANYTHING.
She's located in South Jersey but I think she'll deliver.
I highly recommend Doughmain Bakery in Rosemont. David (the owner) is making my 4 tier cake (to serve 200 guests) for $850. He spent a lot of time working with my fiance and me to design our dream cake. Highly recommend.
Lisa from Sweet Grace Cake design is amazing and has great prices!
We are using Au Petite Delices (? spelling- never took french..) They are in Wayne, PA. I was thrilled with the cakes at our tasting! They range from 3.25 to 5.00 per person, less than some places but I understand their slices are smaller (french thing). Another popular place is in Chestnut Hill, Bredenbach (i think). They run in the 5.00 range per person but are said to be the best.
since cake is not important to you, you might try ordering the 3 tiered cake stand (10 inches) from Sams club for 17+. Then order their round cakes, 3 of the 10 inches for I believe 15 dollars each, this tiered cake could be your decorative cake for pics (and its suppose to serve abt 80-100). Then order either a half sheet cake which you can use to start serving your guests with. You might be able to get away with it for around $100.

Hi All,
I wondered if anyone knew of a place to get an affordable wedding cake around the Main Line area. The cake is one of the less important parts of the wedding for me and I was hoping not to spend too much (I ususally end up dancing and forgetting to eat the cake at most weddings :)). I have thought about contacting Acme or Genuardi's and wondered if anyone has used them or had any other suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help!
