@Brandi8890:  Your best bet will be to find a trunk show where you can buy the samples at a discount, OR, what I did, buy a discontinued gown sample from a bridal boutique.  I wasn’t willing to go much over $1000 myself and I ended up with a Maggie Sottero “Montana” gown (should have been close to $1400) that I love and got it at 40% off for $840 after tax. It can be done!

@Brandi8890:  I discovered that no-name boutiques have MUCH more affordable dresses in very good quality! the one I went to is local, so you probably can’t find it unless you live in hong kong… but look around! you’d be surprised.

I found my shop by walking past it; there were no websites for it or any ads I would’ve seen.

but yeah, trunk shows and samples at discounts are good starting points. just try to get something close to your size, because alterations can cost a lot too!

I would check out Mori Lee! My lace fit-and-flare was around $800, but I tried on others that were more aroun $500!

Moonlight also makes some beautiful affordable dresses. I would also check prices for the same dress at different places. I found one of my dresses at a shop that was trying to sell me the sample for $1134 (or somewhere around that), the bridal place closer to my home town ordered me the same dress for $300 dollars less!! So be sure to check around. Good luck! 🙂

I’m not sure what your style is, but Sue Wong has some incredible dresses less than $1,000. Although they aren’t technically “bridal,” she has a lot of unique white and silver gowns. Check out Neiman, Saks and Bloomingdales! Also, ideeli.com often carries some of her dresses for over 50% off!

Maggie Sottero, Justin Alexander, Mori Lee, Essense of Australia are a few that I can think of. I think Mori Lee is the least expensive out of those I listed.

@Brandi8890:  My Allure Romance dress was $895 with tax. More than I wanted to spend, haha, but well within your budget.

mori lee and davids bridal white by vera wang that is on sale.  You may want to look into discountinued sample dresses.  Look up Church street bridal on facebook.  They sell designer dresses for under $1,000 usually and the full amount you pay goes to charity.

@Brandi8890:  Justin Alexander has beautiful dresses, I got mine for about $1000.

Where are you in Northern California? I live in Sacramento but went to a little bridal shop in Stockton and the owner is so nice and helpful.

@Brandi8890:  +1 for mori lee.  I got my dress priced at $775 (more than that when I added veil and sash but I didn’t NEED those things.  They definetly had dresses even less expensive than that too.  And they don’t look cheap at all 🙂 I thought some of the DB dresses seemed cheap, but it might be worth a look still!
