The problem is as London is the capital everything is double the price - even the affordable wedding gowns! Whats your friends budget?
thanks. my friend is hoping to spend less than 4K but doesn't seem to find anything that's non-tacky there.
Highly recommend Mirror Mirror - there's one in Angel and one in Crouch End. Another friend of mine went to Blackburn Bridal in Blackheath, Browns Bride in Marylebone, Pronovias on Bond St and London Bride Couture in Pimlico, all of which she said were very nice and had dresses in her price range (2-3k). There's also the wonderful Candy Anthony in the Oxo Tower on the South Bank.
Unfortunately I don't know what your friend thinks is "tacky", so I can't speak to what she is finding, but I tried on some Ian Stuarts and Charlotte Balbiers at the two Mirror Mirrors, which were lovely and all under 2k which was my limit. The other boutiques I didn't go to myself, but you can see the dresses they have on their respective websites.
I would also reccomend Mirrors Mirrors - they have a wide selection and im sure there will be something your friend likes and within her price range. Pronovias are also gorgeous a little more expensive but i think still in her price range and these dresses are lovely.
