Okay, so I kind of have an embarassing problem. I sweat. Like a LOT. And it’s not my armpits…they NEVER sweat. It’s my face, my chest, my tummy, the back of my neck, my legs, basically everywhere!
Any time I put on my wedding dress I get hot after a little while and I can feel the sweat begining to form on my legs. I am SO scared that I am going to be a melty, sweaty mess on our wedding day and embarass myself. I am SO scared that my hair will be a wet, stringy mess. I tried up-dos but I absolutely HATE my hair up and everyone agrees that it looks better down, so down it is. And we are getting married in June. Outside.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any tips or suggestions? I just want to cry 🙁

I have this problem too but I really don’t have suggestions… I just make sure I have a little cloth in case it’s on my neck or chest. Try and make a trip to the bathroom every once in a while to freshen up- that might help a little?

What about a half up hairstyle? If you have that sweating issue and you’re getting married in June, outside…..it seems like you might have a hair meltdown if it’s all down!
One thing you can do to keep cool is apply cold water on your wrists. I read that in a magazine like 10 years ago, but it’s an amazing tip. You could carry around a cold water bottle and apply it to your wrists whenever you start feeling yourself getting really hot.

Maybe try putting some baby powder on you tummy, between the legs/boobs (sexy I know…but it has worked for me), and on your chest. Make sure you keep some loose powder around to dust on you face. If you are having your makeup done professionally, ask whoever is doing it what they would do. I’m sure they’ve heard it all and may have some good tips for you.
I second the cool water on the wrists suggestion. Also, try putting an ice cube on any pulse points since your skin is super thin over them (why the wrist thing works). Have you thought about maybe getting a pretty lace or paper fan to carry with you to keep on the day of the wedding. You could keep cool and still have it look pretty.

You could also try seeing a dermatologist. They might be able to try you on medication for your wedding day and/or indefinitely if it’s that problematic.

Maybe move the ceremony indoors? You still have time.

I, too, was afraid of being a sweaty mess on our wedding day. We married on a hot, summers day in July in St. Louis…it was 92 degrees! I don’t have any solutions for stopping the sweating, but one thing that really helped me was wearing a hoop skirt to keep the dress off of my legs (with no hose or garters). I also ordered pretty fans to wave ourselves with and I took a few breaks from time to time to have my BM’s lift up my gown and fan me as well.

I worry about this too. My face tends to sweat more than anything else, which bugs the crap out of me. My plan is to keep my hotel room (where I’ll be getting ready) on the cold side. And blotting papers worked wonderfully for my face during my July engagement photo session. I’ll try to make sure my Maid/Matron of Honor or Fiance has them on them. Also, I got a hoop skirt for my dress instead of a regular crinoline, so that it would not stick to my legs. And even though I prefer the look of my hair down, I will be getting an updo.

I wonder if you had what I had for years a condition called hyperydrosis – where you sweat. I had it in my hands mainly so would leave water droplets on the computer keyboard etc and couldn’t shake my old lecturers hand when I won an award as I was too embarassed. It’s worth going to the doctors about. I had an operation which stopped it.
