I have found myself hesitating when I’m about to order something online or make a major purchase at a store. I think it’s because I know that I’m a very indecisive person, and I’m quite picky. So I always want to think things through like 83294723 times before committing to them. I want to see all my options and be 100% confident when I buy something. I think that’s better than just impulsively shopping, but it can be a pain when you’re trying to get anything done! Being indecisive can be time consuming, overwhelming, and stressful! Haha.

SkinnyLatte17:  Is it because you’re afraid you’ll change your mind? Afraid you’ll be wasting money on something unnecessary? Or afraid there won’t be a wedding at all?

SkinnyLatte17:  Same here! My wedding is in 5 months and there’s still a bunch of things I need to get. I get nervous about buying stuff… like what if I change my mind? What if we don’t use it? Is this a waste of money? Bahaha… it’s terrible. We did get some things online (cake cutting set, cake topper… things like that) and that was a HUGE deal.

lumosplease:  I’m the same! I become obsessed with making sure I know ALL of my options and that I’m getting the best deal before I commit to buying something, completely stresses me out and takes FOREVER!

SkinnyLatte17:  I always hesitated in big purchases. I wanted o always be sure that Ihad the lowest possible price, so some things it took me 2 weeks of price searching before buying.

@winterwoodlandbride15, I get to a point when I’m just like, “Woman! Just do it already, damnit!” Yeah.

I had this problem until we nailed down our colors and decided not to have a “theme”, then as long as they went with the colors, the venue or the dress, it went with the wedding and I could go for it! I was worried I’d change my mind, but if you REALLY love something and keep going back to it, chances are you wont change your mind. It helped too that all my purchases were relatively inexpensive, so I didnt have to worry too much if buyers remorse hit.

I’ve been very hesitant with purchasing things. The only thing that I really bought on the spot was my wedding dress. I honestly took over 2 weeks to commit to buying a one of a kind hair piece that matched my dress perfectly because I was just so unsure. I did get it though and it just arrive Saturday and it’s perfect, but it took me long enough to get it! In my mind I tell myself “if it’s really meant to be mine it will still be available after my next paycheck.”

I’m not sure if I’m hesitant because I’m not completely clear on my vision or if I’m just really nervous for the big day. I have a private decorator who will decorate the entire reception so at least I don’t have to worry about centerpeices and linens and things, otherwise I’d be in big trouble!

Your wedding is at the same time as mine.  I’ve bought some stuff and already changed my mind about them.  A lot of it is off etsy where I can’t return it either.  There is nothing wrong with waiting.  We have plenty of time!  Just prioritize anything you absolutely know you want that needs to be custom made.

Me too! I always think “What if I find something better?” or “I wonder if I can find this cheaper, is there going to be a sale”.

I see your wedding isn’t until October 2015… I feel that this may have a big impact on your reluctance. In my opinion, you are doing the right thing by not jumping the gun. You have plenty of time to get some things sorted out and your idea of your wedding could change a lot in a year. Also, one of the times I was suckered into buying because there was a sale at Hobby Lobby (THE 50% off sale happens EVERY MONTH, if you have seen that sale, don’t fall for it!). Anyway, I ended up just buying things because they were on sale and I liked them, it turns out they really didn’t fit what we wanted. But I misplaced the receipt. It really was a lot of headache to get it all sorted out. I would say you are safe looking and comparing options, don’t feel bad about not buying right away! If you haven’t felt it was time to buy, it’s probably because it wasn’t the right time yet, or not the right product for you! Everything happens for a reason, when you find the right things and it’s the right time, you will buy. and you’ll go home with a big smile on your face an no regrets 🙂
