Hi Harmonyee!! I am thinking about using http://luxuriouslooksmakeup.net/services.html. I called the MAC store on Walnut and they referred me to Yanna. She was very nice on the phone, prices are a bit high though. (150.00). I'm not sure if that is normal or not. However, if you have bridesmaids that need make-up she will cut the cost for the bride.

A friend of mine referred me to Yanna! She will be doing my makeup and my 3 bridesmaids! I think she typically charges $100 for the bride and $75 for bridesmaids. Lashes are $10 extra, but the bride gets free lashes and whatever lip gloss she uses that day. She uses all MAC products. I really like the way she did my face during my trial (she charges $40 for the trial but its more like a deposit - she applies it to the total cost).
She seems pretty down to earth and flexible. I'll let you know how it goes!
PS. Her prices include travel to your location for application! We were able to talk her down a bit too....
My wedding was on Saturday and my makeup was done by a freelance make up artist. She was wonderful! I spent about 3 hours with her for the trial and we tried so many looks...she was incredibly patient. She was also very professional which I appreciate.
The make up looked amazingly natural and I didn't worry at all about how I looked all day. I received so many compliments on my wedding day and I felt absolutely beautiful.
My friend and I both are getting married soon. I called Yanna to check her availability and schedule a consultation and from the moment she picked up the phone I experienced attitude. Granted today could've been an "off" day for her but she still should keep some level of professionalism. Due to my unpleasant conversation with Yanna..we will not be using her. It's unfortunate because she missed out on booking two bridal parties. So beware, she is a little snippy and uneasy to speak with.

my bridesmaids and i decided to fly a MUA from chicago, she is amazing.
love her work and really want to look exceptional that day. shes the same price as Yanna, who i got in touch with. she answered my email nextday but after comparing work, i rather go with MUA from chi town!

hey ladies,
does anyone know of a good makeup artist in Philly that specializes in makeup for African American women or women of color? i have someone in mind but won't be able to have a consultation by her before the wedding due to my distance and our schedules...im contemplating a MAC counter....but would love any suggestions!
