Off the top of my head, I can't think of any couples that have both been African American or Latino, but I've only been around for 8 months or so. Maybe there were some before I came around.
I've been reading since last summer, and there haven't been any during this time that I can remember. I would be interested to know too. Any old-timers around? :)
I think Mr. Mango was indian as was his bride. But he only posted a few times then left.
Do I count as an old timer? :-)
Mrs. Butterscotch was African-American and so was her FI. We took her posts down for personal reasons though.
I was wondering about this too. With Hippo, Swan, and Elephant, we are certainly on our way there! It's really going to be up to us to step up and start blogging though if we want to see different representation.
@Aubergold: Girl I hear you. I know that when I see bloggers that are going to be having "kinda" some of my issues read: nappy nappy nappy hair :( I can't wait to read them. Wait, you should start blogging yourself. Not only are you black, you are also African, and you are marrying my brother self!
@bRooklynRocks: HAHAHA, yes. I might consider it, will you?. I dont know if people want to hear me complaining about our African parents the whole time. My mom is already on some "you have to invite Auntie Nana, remember when she gave you a dollar when you were 3?" Im like "yeah and I've never seen her since"
OR
"how can you not serve chin-chin at the wedding?". Dont nobody want chin-chin or puff puff at the wedding, MOM!
thanks for the info mr. bee!
I am very glad that you brought this up because I was wondering the same thing myself. And I too am a person of mixed decent that is in an interracial relationship. BUT I have to be honest (please don't throw me under the bus!) it would be nice to see some couples that represent love within communities of color and it does bother me that I don't see that on the Bee. It concerns me that I don't see men of color reprsented in the blogs lately.
@Aubergold: Girl please! It's nice that I am in my 30's so I can stand up to her not inviting everybody in "So and so village Congress...Houston/MD/Dallas Chapter" to my wedding. I caved though, I am incorporating some Naija foods in my cocktail hour. I do like meatpies and fried plantain with stew. Em, they can eat it and the American food too. But I ain't doing a 400 person blow out... Crazy!!! You must sit down and eat your food. No chin chin as my centerpiece thankyouverymuch....
Well, if you want to blog, sign me up. I will read it obsessively. I like reading, I hate writing. I'm lazy :(
Ah this was a long time ago so I forgot: one of our earlier bees (Mrs. Rose) was another African-American bride who was engaged to an African-American man. She disappeared after a few months of blogging though alas...
To all who are in relationships they'd like to see represented on Weddingbee: please consider applyihng to become a blogger!!

Mr. Bee
@Aubergold: And Oyster, too. ;) You should definitely apply! I'd *love* to see an African wedding on WB. Diversity in the wedding industry is important, but more importantly it would be very cool to see here. :)

Hi,
I was wondering if there has ever been an African American or Latino couple that blogged for the Weddingbee? I know there has been diversity in bloggers but the ones I have seen are in interracial relationships (Swan, Elephant, Hippo, etc.) so I was curious if there have been any couples prior to when I found out about the 'bee.
Disclaimer: I ask this without judgement. I am the product of an interracial marriage and am in an interracial relationship now. I am simply curious, so please don't make this post controversial.
