Hey bees! A few of you might remember me from a while back- I posted for a while until I called off an engagement to a pretty nasty man in September. It was absolutely the right move for me because….
I AM ENGAGED TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! It’s been an absolutely crazy adventure but I’ve loved every second of it with my now FI. We instantly hit it off and started dating just a few weeks after I ended my engagement with my ex, and just about instantly fell in love. In fact, nine days after we became official, he told me he loved me and thought he was going to marry me.
Well, Thursday, April 17, he followed through and proposed. And man, did he do it well! Here’s my proposal story plus a few pics:
I was relaxing at home when I heard someone walking up to my door. I totally figured it would be FI (eeep so exciting to call him that!) until whoever it was knocked on the door. (FI has a key). When I opened it, FI was standing there. He asked me if I wanted to go on an adventure, and pulled me out of the house onto the driveway where I saw a convertible corvette he’d borrowed from a friend with a dress he’d bought for me draped over the passenger seat. Holy cow. He proceeded to pack up a weekend bag for me and we got in the car to begin our adventure!
First stop, a nail salon, where I got a pretty red manicure (his favorite color).
Then we got back in the convertible and drove two hours to this delicious and amazing restaurant. After dinner, we got back in the car and drove another hour and a half. (A little backstory: on our very first date, we went and toured a winery in the city we live in. This winery has another location a few hours away.) We finally pulled up to our destination, the second location of the winery we went to on our first date!! I was just totally in shock (and MAJORLY teary eyed)!
We pulled up to a cabin he had rented on the winery’s property and when we got out of the car, he took me around to the back patio of the cabin. There were candles, flowers, and a bottle of champagne set up! He said some of the absolute sweetest things I’ve ever heard in my life, then dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him!! It was so romantic. His best friend was hiding in the woods taking pictures!
The next day, we went on a winery tour and ended up visiting six different wineries and sampling TONS of delicious wines. We then drove to another city. Then next morning, we drove around the city sight seeing and eating until finally it was time to head home to my parents’ house to celebrate Easter with them.
It was absolutely the most incredible experience of my life, and I am beyond blessed to be engaged to the man of my dreams!!! When we finally arrived back to my house late Sunday night, he gave me a framed record of The Lumineers (our favorite band together) for me to hang on my wall.
I’m still totally in shock!! Here’s a pics and picture of the ring!!
