Any Bees feel like me?
I am looking around the living room noticing the tree, decorations, and stockings. I know they all must be put away until next year.
I am seriously depressed. No more Christmas specials, Christmas music, large gathering of family exchanging gifts and love.
The pure excitement and beauty of the season is quickly melting away.
I am ready to cry.
I feel this way every year after Christmas.
Anyone else dealing with the post-holiday blues?

I am no help because I am the exact opposite.
Just wanted to send a big hug your way!!
For me, the year flies by. I think it’s cuz of my line of work. But to cheer you up, why not keep out some sort of little tree? My husband bought me this adorable tree that eventually we’ll put in the ground and it can grow to 15 feet. Right now it looks like a Charlie Brown tree.

@Irishb: I usually do, but this Christmas wasn’t exactly what I was expecting it to be, so I’m ready to just start the new year. Plus I graduate college this year, so I’m way more excited about that!
I’m sorry you feel that way! Just keep in mind, it always happens every 11 months. 🙂

Sometimes yeah, but this time I just want to Get.On.With.My.Life! I am ready (I think).

I’m feeling post-Christmas relief mixed with sadness. I don’t want to put anything away. Luckily we booked our vacation for Thursday so we’ll be heading out soon!

@Irishb: I feel the same way.
Honestly, most of the year I’m pretty cynical and depressed in general… but once October rolls around, I start to perk up.
After Thanksgiving? I turn into a super peppy, happy person. I actually CRAFT. Yeah. Something in me changes. I made ribbons bows and a wreath, and baked cookies for my fiance’s office.
And then, just like that… it’s all over.
I completely understand how you feel. I’m in the middle of wedding planning, and I just don’t care. I want to bring Christmas back. hah.

@Irishb: I can totally relate. Christmas time is the most magical time of the year for me. I LOVE everything about Christmas time. After all the festivities are over with Christmas evening I get bummed out. It just goes by so fast! I even decorated mid november this year to make it feel longer. What helps me is just having something to look forward to after Christmas and also putting things away as soon as I can. My decorations bum me out once the 25th passes so away they go.

Not blue yet…
But give me a few weeks… by mid January, I’ll be feeling right miserable, lol
I dread January… and the older I get the worse it is… DARK, Freezing Cold, Grey, Bleak… did I mention FRICKIN FREEZIN !!
I cannot wait until we retire and can hopefully bid January in Canada good-bye permanently !!

So I am not the only one..
I was beginning to think I was crazy.
Some of you mentioned having something to look forward to is a good distraction. Now, I just have to figure out what that is for me. lol

Yeah, I got it a bit. This Christmas was the best Christmas I have ever had, so I was quite sad for it to be over, but at least we know it’s coming back!

Pretty sure I went and hid in the bathroom and cried when we put the christmas stuff away. I thought I was ok with it until it all started coming down. I am super stressed lately and a little extra hormonal so that wasn’t helping at all. I would have kept it up until at leastt he end o f january if I could. I am really tempted at at least go pull a strand of lights back out and hang them up. So basically what I am trying to say is you are definitely not alone!

I would be lying if I said I didn’t shed a few tears. My husband thinks I am quite out of my mind, lol
I don’t have anything to blame my reaction on; I’m just way too attached to the season. =)
