We are planning on doing an after party, but its only because our reception location offered to give us a smaller room after the reception.  We are able to bring in our own food and drinks too!  Maybe check your reception site and see if they will offer the same?

Maybe not doing a club? Look into a bar or lounge that can accomodate that size crowd? I would call ahead and find out and make some type of reservation.  I’m sure if you mention a wedding after party, they would be happy to figure something out, maybe save a few tables for you.

We’re not doing an after party since our venue is kind of in the middle of nowhere, and our venue doesn’t force us out until 1am.  I think that will be a late enough night.  If I’m still in the mood, maybe we’ll order pizza into our hotel room and just have a few friends over or something.

You could talk to the lounge/bar in the hotel where you’ll be staying (if you’re staying in a hotel that night). You also might consider having drinks and snacks set up in a suite that someone in your wedding party is staying in.

don’t do it.  you’ll be tired afterward and want to spend some time alone with your new husband.  most of my guests were exhausted too.  all of them had gone out the night before and didn’t want to go out on the wedding night too.
