What a totally great idea!!! LOVE it! It's after the formality of the affair. The guests will be in party mode. Too much fun! The carts sound cool.
I think something informal will be really fun. At our ballroom, we offer guests philly pretzels and mini cheesesteaks to eat to hold them over for their ride home.
At one wedding I went to recently, they passed out cheeseburgers and paper cones of french fries at the end of the night. They were a huge hit.
Mmm, I'm thinking mini grilled cheese sandwiches. French fries would be great too. Mini corn dogs? Soft pretzels, like someone else suggested, would be good too.
At a wedding we went to a few weeks ago, the caterers passed out slices of pizza at midnight to the dancing (and drinking) hangers-on.
I wedding I just went to had Dominoes delivered later on in the night. I thought that was a really good idea.
We had McD's cheeseburgers passed out on silver platters by the hotel staff! It was a hit! You should totally do it if its within your budget and if you know your friends would appreciate it (who wouldn't ;D)
That is such a cool idea! I say if it's in the budget do it!!! Those hot dogs sound nummy!!! Just check with the reception hall to make sure they will let you bring food. I think you doing them is fine!!!!! Who's going to know, if you don't tell them?
hahah! thanks everyone for your grea ideas! now i am soo hungry.
sometimes i make FI drive us out to LA at night (really, it's in the morning around 1 or 2 am!) just to get one of those hot dogs! tonight may be one of those nights... :)
pizza delivery sounds really do-able and cheeseburger and fries on silver platters! how cute is that?! decisions... decisions...
my fiance and just went to a wedding where most OTT guests were staying in the hotel...when we got to our room there was a note from the bride and groom along with a plate of cookies and milk. The note said "Have sweet dreams on us!"....i thought that was really cute...and a nice suprise!

Since we are on the subject of candy buffets and coffee carts - my dinner reception is going to followed by a dancing section, which is hopefully off da hook because one of my friends is a DJ at some of the hottest Hollywood clubs and my MC is another friend who used to host at the Laugh Factory. We are thinking it will alst until 1 am if not later.
I looove eating those bacon wrapped hot dogs after a good night of clubbing, but is it kind of inappropriate to have a cart or two of these outside my reception? My FI said we can probably just make them on our own, but I don't think it has the same feel, nor do I want to worry about hot dogs at the end of that long day. So, FI suggested an In N Out truck, but that can get really costly.
Has anyone else ever provided a midnight snack? What did you choose? How did it work?
Thanks!! Can't wait to hear your great ideas!
