all the time. enter diy projects! they fill the gaps! I have 9 months to go and now i am hand making the favors with my cuddlebug!
I think I'll definitely hit a few planning lulls in the 3 years I'll be engaged. =) I'm kind of glad for my slightly bi-polar approach to wedding planning, because it lets me go crazy during the summer when I'm off from university (helps to ease the boredom!), then concentrate on school when it starts back up again!
This is totally normal! Especially since it sounds like you got A LOT of the big stuff decided very promptly (kudos!)
We had a period of about 4 months where I did almost NOTHING wedding related. I would do maybe one thing once a week (like send an e-mail, bookmark some inspiration photos, shop for a shower dress.....easy stuff). It felt really weird to be doing it, but unless you really want to spend a large portion of your engagement period doing craft projects, it's bound to occurr if you have an engagement longer than a year. Why don't you try making a list of all the little details you can possibly think of and just see if it feels realistic to try and tackle any of them yet. For example, wedding party gifts or accessories, those are the types of tasks that sometimes take longer than you originally anticipate!
I agree -- that's normal! The last two - three months though, for us anyway, have been CRAZY busy. That's where organization helps BIG time. Enjoy the lull - it does get busier! ![]()
Very normal! I did it the same way you did - knocked the big stuff out of the way fast. Im just under 3 months out from my wedidng and jsut got out of another lull. Start the DIY stuff and start ordering stuff now. The costs will be spread out over a longer period of time and not seem as shocking. Good for you for getting a head start!
Thanks for the replies, bees! Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I'll definitely take some time to enjoy the lull!

Hi! My FH and I have been engaged for 3 months now. After we got engaged, we immediately got to work booking our venue, photographer, videographer, band, etc. Now we have a little less than a year to go, and I've seem to hit a lull - I've made a few gown shopping trips, but I'm not sure what else I should be doing right now! Anyone else feel the same way?
