@AluvsN4eva:  I am going to be framing it! I found this picture on Pinterest a few months back. Dh is going to be making a frame and then getting some glass custom cut for it. Should only be around $80, total. Much cheaper than preserving and it will actually get to hang and look pretty!

Right now, it’s still in our closet. And yes, I have put it on since our wedding haha.

We love love this idea for framing your wedding dress! We first saw Adrienne Maloof’s framed wedding dress on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and then the framed wedding dress above started floating around Pinterest.

I honestly don’t know.  I haven’t had it cleaned yet either (not quite 3 weeks since our wedding). I might see if I can have it altered so i can wear it in 5 or 10 years for a vow renewal.

Considering I still have the dress I bought 14 years ago when I was engaged the first time hanging in a closet, I’m probably not the best person to ask though.

@AluvsN4eva:  A few options:

  • donate
  • save for offspring or grandkids
  • frame
  • cut and make home crafts out of it
  • make a new dress out of the dress (one you can wear more often)
  • sell
  • save for vow renewal
  • if you have a daughter you can alter it into dress up clothes

I am thinking about making a babies blanket for any future children or perhaps a hanky for a future daughter on her wedding day.

A friend of my mom’s made pillows out of hers. I like these ideas, personally. Framing is great too if you have the wall space.

I remember last time I posted about this there was someone who was going to donate it. I don’t remember the site but there is a site that takes any and all wedding dresses to help out people who cannot afford extravagant gowns. I honestly am quite old fashioned. I am keeping mine and preserviing it and seeing if my daughter one day wants to use part of it for her own dress.

My mum got married in the 70s and had this GORGEOUS chiffon dress that with a little altering would have been gorgeous on me as well. Unfortunatley her dress buirned up in a house fire. So I like the idea of preserving it, putting in a cupboad at my mum and dads and keeping it for the off chance one day my daugher will use a small part (even just the flower) for her own wedding outfit 🙂
