I’m totally hoping that an impromptu after party breaks out at the hotel that we have rooms blocked at.  That way we can stop in and party a little (casually) then go upstairs when we get tired!  I’m hanging out with my guests till the end.. no early leaving for us!

We’re doing a ‘pretend leave’ just for the photo opp.  Since our reception ends early (9:30pm), and since there’s a great irish pub right down the street, I’m hoping people will want to take the party there!

My mom keeps telling me I’m going to leave earlier than everyone else, but my FI and I decided that we’re going to stay as long as we can because we want to enjoy our party if we’re paying so much for it.

do you have a time that you rented the place until? usually if you don’t have an “exit” planned, you can hang out until everyone leaves and say your thank you for coming’s and goodbyes. if you have an exit, like you want to go to the limo or sparklers or bubbles, you’ll wait until the end of the party and have everyone come out to see you off, and that’s their cue the party is over.

We only have our venue until 11pm and then we have a trolley taking everyone back to the hotel.  We’re having an after-party in the hotel bar, so the party will continue after the reception :o)

We are staying to the end, which is midnight.  I like to hope the party will keep going but we aren’t staying at the same hotel as our guest are so we probably will just head back. But I agree, I don’t know what to do!  Do we just say thank you and leave?

I don’t know either! The last wedding I went to, I left before the couple did…so I have no clue!

we decided to do an exit at the last minute. BEST photos. totally worth it. all we did was pass out rose petals. we left about 30 minutes before the end so not everyone was still there but a lot of people were.

we are going to leave, swing by our hotel and change into more comfy clothes, then meet our guests out downtown to let the partying continue!  a huge portion of our guests are coming across the country for this event so we’re NOT turning in early.

a word of advice: if you do the “pretend exit” to get pictures just so the photographers don’t have to keep hanging around, just be careful with that.  i was at one wedding where most of the guests were confused and didn’t know it was a “pretend exit” so most of the guests went ahead and left too!  then the bride and groom came back, ready to party, but the place was mostly empty.  kind of a bummer!

im just gonna hop on the drunk bus with everyone else and head back to the hotel and continue the fun. Im not big on entrances or exits (in fact im not doing either), but you could maybe stage the exit when everyone else is leaving and tell them youll see them at the bar or something.
