I was just wondering who is having an afternoon wedding and who is having an evening wedding and why.  My wedding is 12/11/10, I always wanted to have an evening wedding, with the Xmas lights.  Well today Fiance comes home and says we should have it in the afternoon.  His reasoning is how XMAS party will be that day and he doesn't want to make the co-workers invited choose between the two.  ARGH!   A little difference here and no one wants to budge. :(

Awww how many coworkers are invited to both?  I bet a majority of them would come to your wedding anyway... our company Xmas party tends to be pretty unattended by people in my department :)

We're having our wedding on a Friday evening.  We chose Friday because of the financial benefits, and most Friday weddings tend to be in the evenings.   I think some late afternoon/early evening pictures will be pretty.

We're having a sunset wedding which I think will be a perfect backdrop considering the ceremony is outside.

Well, around here it's dark at 5.  I'm sure it gets dark earlier at this time of year in PA.  If you have an afternoon wedding, it'll de dark before dinner!

We are doing an afternoon wedding because the caterers were almost half price to do lunch instead of dinner and none of our friends or family are heavy drinkers or partiers late night types of people. If the company has a Christmas party scheduled for the same date as your wedding and that date was set prior to when your wedding date was set, I think they have priority. It wouldn't be fair to the coworkers to ask them to choose. Is there any way you can switch your date? Maybe to the night before, if you really want an evening affair?

Either works out, but I wouldn't change it just because of a Christmas party... I don't know that's a rock and a hard place.
