Neither. They both wanted her to be someone she wasn't. I'd prefer Big over Aiden but I dont think either one of them is who she was truly meant to be with.
Aiden, but honestly I think he was way too good for Carrie.
Team Aiden here!
I loved Big's character, but he needed to get a grip and figure himself out YEARS earlier ;)
Aiden all the way, but I agree, I think he was too good for her.
Loved Big and his character, but definitely not to date (or marry!)
@plantains: I agree!
I voted Aidan because he is who I'd want to be with out of any of Carrie's loves - but I don't think he was well-suited for Carrie. They were too different, and he wanted more of a traditional commitment (marriage) than she did. Neither of them should have had to compromise who they were, but they couldn't be together without doing that.
Aiden. I always hated Big and never understood why she was with him!
Big!!!!! Aiden didn't love her for who she was!!!
Big did love her for who she was but needed to figure his own crap out first!!!!
BIG ALL THE WAY!!!!!
Aiden for me but not for Carrie. I don't think she deserves him. I've had a Big in my life so I understand the appeal but real-life Bigs are not the same. They don't change.
@Ms Bookworm: I agree with this. I personally always liked Aidan the best, because he seemed to genuinely love Carrie and want what's best for her. Big always seemed too self centered for my taste.
I loved Aidan, although I agree with others...He wasn't right for her. I hated that she ended up with Big. It was like seeing your girlfriend go back to her shitty boyfriend time and time again.
Haha, I actually really liked Burger (besides the whole awful post-it break up!).
I chose Aidan because I love him, but I agree that Carrie wasn't good enough for him. Big treated Carrie like shit, but I don't like her anyways haha.
I'm also a HUUUUGE fan of SATC. I still can get over Mr. Big leaving her at the alter
Between Aidan and Mr. Big, I would've chosen the most commited one, Aidan.
I agree @NancyCP: real-life Bigs don't change.
@Future Mrs. Martin: I agree with you, Aidan needed a family-type.
@AnneTossy: I liked Berger, too! Again, minus the post-it breakup.
I always wanted her and Berger to work!
@Missido: I know, after Big wigged out at the wedding I would have been done. That was one time too many for me.
Team Aidan here too, but I agree that they weren't right for each other. At least he was a genuinely nice guy, which is more than I can say about most of the other guys she dated in the series.
aidan but only how it played out in the second movie....like they reunited in the middle east and she left big for him :). soap opera style!
aleksandr---NO WAY! he'd be dead by the third movie anyways.
When Big dumped her at the altar I was like "Oh yay, she'll finally meet someone better."
But no. So over him. Love the actor who plays him though!
Berger was funny but too insecure to be with a strong woman who made more money. Aidan wanted her to be a wife and mommy type (not going to happen). Alexsandr neglected her.
I think she was just too neurotic to be with anyone!
I always liked Big. He was kind of a douche, but he never tried to change her. I was happy to see them end up together. Aiden was such a nice guy though. I think he was more in love with the idea of being in love and having a family than he really was with Carrie.
In one of the last scenes of Season 6 Part 2, where Big tells Carrie that she's the one, makes my heart melt. Team Big! Big always kept the relationship interesting.
I feel like Carrie was always the most annoying when she was with Big though. Like super needy, paranoid, always in meltdown mode chasing him around, blowing off her friends, sleeping with him while he was married to someone else. And then she'd always play the "we're just friends" card to get back in his life, then she'd get possessive. Give me Smith and Samantha any day.
So I always thought big was a dick (a lovable dick.. but still) until recently when I rewatched the TV show (from season 1-6... I had some free time).
Carrie is really the one playing games with big. Besides cheating on his wife (Carrie also cheated on her boyfriend, so neither one is innocent) and being a bit dense... Big is mostly just plodding along trying to figure out what he wants and not raise Carrie's expectations.
Carrie, on the other hand, is too neurotic for words and can't just take a pretty straightforward dude at his word. I'm not sure what I want means just that, as does let's take it slow, neither of which do I think Big actually said... but that's the message he was getting across in the early episodes, before Natasha... or whatever her name is.
In the Aidan Carrie relationship things are sort of reversed with Carrie mirroring Big, being unsure what she wants but maybe not being masterful at communicating it, but Aidan keeps pushing for HIS wants, a stable home, marriage, family, etc.
Also, now I can't watch an episode with Aidan in it without feeling like I'm watching an Applebee's commercial ;)
Aidan all the way! I think Big is likely to cheat, divorce, flee, etc.

I love Sex and the City and I always think I have made up which I would choose...then I watch an episode where one of them is "perfect" and change my mind. So just for fun, if you were in Carrie's situation who would you choose?
