BF and I have a Napa Valley trip planned for mid-February, which is our most favorite place in the world and a destination that has a lot of meaning for us as a couple (BF is dead set on getting married there). I was in the process of making us dinner reservations for our trip (Napa is such a foodie destination that you have to make reservations out so far in advance), when he told me that he already had made us dinner reservations for the second night of our trip – at The French Laundry!
BF and I have been ring shopping recently and I know that he’ll be buying something in early January. From our timeline talks, he’s always said he’d propose around March. We’ve both also been dying to go to The French Laundry for a LONG time. I was never into the idea of him proposing in a restaurant, but because Napa has so much meaning to us, I’m starting to get into it.
I’m trying not to get my hopes up, because it could not happen, but it is so hard!
Just wanted to share my excitement – now to wait patiently for the next few months…

Well, you never know! That does sound like it would be the location for the perfect proposal. I hope that you are able to wait patiently! Good luck!

@Cinderella7: Gahhhhhh I hope so! The French Laundry would be amazing! With all the personal connection to Napa and since the French Laundry is pretty much the quintessential Napa restaurant, it seems like a pretty good opportunity.

Ohhhhh! That sounds wonderful! Trip details! How long are you staying, how many times have you been before (I assume several since it means so much to both of you), type of place your staying at? Yes, I am trying to live vicariously through you because I need a vacation. 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful trip planned ahead! Yeah, it would be hard for me to not get excited about something like that too. But it would be difficult if he didn’t propose there when you were kind of expecting it, so try not to let that anxiety/anticipation ruin the trip!

Thanks for all the good thoughts, everyone!
@SomedaymrsWDS: Thanks so much! This is our third trip up there in about 18 months (we were supposed to go in November too, but BF got sick and we had to cancel). We’re staying at the Hotel Yountville, which is a boutique hotel up there (we’ve never stayed there before, but it looks gorgeous). We will be up there for 3 days, 2 nights (we live in SoCal, so it’s not a far trip for us). We have lots of wine tasting, good food, and relaxation on the agenda. I can’t wait!

@Cinderella7: Sounds like heaven. Especially the part about the wine

Sounds promising !!
Statistics are in your favour…
Most Engagements happen between US Thanksgiving and Valentines.
And occur on a Holiday – Special Day / Occasion – On a Vacation – or in a SIGNIFICANT Location
I’d be psyched if I was you…
I didn’t know when my Proposal was coming (I read it all wrong)
If I had known, I probably would have amped up “my girlie game” a bit more…
Gone to the spa, had my hair done, Manicure & Pedicure… had a couple of new outfits etc.
Lol on 2nd thought maybe it was a good thing I didn’t know… good for my wallet anyhow.
Hope this helps,
