- Wedding: August 2010
Ah, so I can now join the anxious ranks of those who have had crazy wedding dreams! Until last night, I hadn’t had any wedding day-of dreams, but now I have. FH got a good laugh from it this morning, so I thought I’d share:
It was the day of the wedding, and me, FH, my mom/dad, aunt/uncle go to our venue to see how the set-up is going. My mom mentions that they are making our tables out of “apple crates with a tablecloth put on top” and I say that’s weird, since it’s a summer wedding, not fall themed, but whatever, I don’t want to stress over “small details” lol. Then I remember I didn’t make the kid’s activity packs, like I planned. No worries, I say.
Next we (all) go to the salon, to get my hair done. It’s like a hotel lobby inside the “salon” and my uncle says “ohh! there’s a buffet here, I’m getting breakfast!”. In comes my MOH, who has gotten a really, really bad 90’s perm and bangs deal going on, especially for the wedding. (IRL she has amazing hair). She asks me if I like it, I am horrified, but say “if you like it, it’s ok with me!”
I look at a clock and realize it’s almost time for the ceremony and if we don’t leave RIGHT THEN, we’ll be late. I say “I’m a calm bride, it’s ok, I’ll do my own hair on the way there!”, but on the way, I realize I forgot to shave that morning, and worry about that.
We get there, and I say “oh no, we forgot to make up our programs!” and FH asks if we have time to do them at the venue, and I say I don’t think so, because I don’t know what order things are happening in. Then I say something about how time has flown, and I thought we had a few more weekends until we get married. I then realize (in HORROR) that we also forgot to pick out any readings for the ceremony! I tell my mom and she laughs and says “don’t worry, that’s the officiate’s job” and I’m like “umm, no it was my job”, then I started to panic, and woke up!
It was only 5am when I woke up, but I was so panicked feeling, I debated going downstairs and trying to look for readings for the ceremony and working on our programs! LOL – 8 months to go!
