- Wedding: May 2010
I have (in my opinion) a beautiful engagement ring. FI and I picked it out together from an antique store in England. I absolutely love the way it looks and also that it includes both my mother (peridot) and fathers (diamond) birthstones.
Today Mother-In-Law asked me (over messenger) what we were doing about wedding rings. The wedding is less that 2 weeks away and I was planning on waiting for Fiance to arrive from England for us to shop together. Due to the shape of my engagement ring, I am 99.9% positive that I won’t find something that sits flush to the ring. I’ve toyed with the idea of having something made earlier in the year but its just not an option financially and not something I wanted to do without my guy, who I havent seen since January. I was thinking either a half eternity band or maybe even a band without stones as money is tight. She then offered to let me have her great aunts ring. It is beautiful and I love the idea of having something from his family to wear. The only issue is that I love both of these rings and am unsure how I should wear them. As you can see me engagement ring has peridot and diamonds and the ring she is offering has rubies and diamonds. I’m just not sure if they will look right togther. Fiance arrives Wednesday so I’ll get it then but what do you all think?
Please ignore the plain band in the ruby picture, it will be melted to make the ring bigger.
