It all started when I fell in love with this 1950’s vintage dress off of Etsy (on sale on Etsy by vintagewise):
It had a few things wrong with it:
– Top of my price range
– Not the neckline I wanted
– Had a few small age spots on it
But I still LOVED it. Somehow I restrained myself from impulse buying it and looked on Ebay for vintage wedding dresses.
Lo and behold within three pages of my search I found a dress that matched my criteria.
The great things about it-
– Below price range
– Has the neckline I want
– No age spots, brand new and has never been worn other than being tried on at the dress shop that was selling it.
Bidding started at $50 and the Buy it Now price was $75. I took a risk and bid on it. I was the only bidder and ended up getting my dream dress for $50. 🙂
Here she is (sold by sallies_bridal on Ebay)-
This is completely different than what I originally planned on getting. This dress encompasses what the little girl version of me had pictured for my wedding dress.
So budget brides who like vintage wedding dresses: Etsy and Ebay might be worth looking into. 🙂
