It’s my first time posting on here – have been reading & looking at dresses for a while 🙂
I got my dress last weekend after looking at a couple of shops. It isn’t what I thought I would go for (I thought I wanted something with straps, satin & more detailed) but when I put it on I didn’t want to take it off 🙂 And it was in a sample sale, so it came home.
I’m now stressing over whether I have made the right choice though. Whenever I see the dress hanging up, I love it, it’s simple & hopefully elegant! It is chiffon, so quite a light dress. But then I see the pics of me in it & I’m stressing whether or not I like it!
I’m hoping I’m just being silly & this is normal, but I’m concerned that in a while I may wish I had picked something more satiny & less simple… did you feel this way??

I think it is very pretty and feminine.
I went through the same thing, actually I am still going through the same thing the second thoughts run through my head constantly. I have to go to the store and try on the sample since my dress isn’t in yet. Everytime I try it on I love it again though, but in pictures not so much.
this is a pic of my dress

I think you look lovely in that dress! It makes your waist look super small, and has pretty, delicate details.

It’s very flattering and pretty! Kind of soft and dreamy.
Yes, it’s very normal to stress about whether it’s the right dress. I just posted my *third* such thread Sunday night.

I think you made the right choice. It shows off everything it should and suits your figure very well. If you don’t think it is blingy enough you could add a sash, jeweled belt, or a large brooch, but I think it looks wonderful on you just the way it is. It is perfectly normal to have second thoughts about your dress. Just make sure you stop looking at other gowns and you will be fine.

I think it’s beautiful. Try not to look at the pictures. I love my dress in person but was having doubts when I looked at the pictures, but when I tried it on again I loved it. I think the fact that you didn’t want to take it off shows that it was a great choice. All you’ve got to do now is stop looking at other dresses 😉

Thank you girls! Really glad to hear I’m not the only one thinking this… Jenny, that is a fantastic dress, I love the bottom of it!! One of my friends is getting married in Aug, bought her dres in Jan then bought another one last week because she had changed her mind… That is one thing I really want to avoid! I think I probably need to stop looking at dresses online, my photos & my actual dress for a while! (I took the dress home when I bought it as it is a sample & I live a couple of hours away so am having alterations done in the town I live now rather than the shop in my hometown.
Just don’t want to regret the choice! I think one of my main things is that it is chiffon & I’m getting married in the UK = cold!! But the heavier dresses felt really hard to move in & not me so I need to remember that… Thank you!

I think 90 percent of us go through dress regret. Search the forum and you will see tons; I was/am one of them. There are hundreds of dresses out there and we just have to stop looking and know we will look great!

Your dress is lovely! Sometimes I wish I’d gone the chiffon route–it’s so feminine, romantic and light…
If you’re concerned about the cold, maybe you can check out the selection of gorgeous wedding boleros, shrugs and wraps on Etsy. They can add a very stylish look to your gown, and you can take them off for photos.

Ladies, thank you for your help! I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one to have dress concerns! I have now put my dress away so I can’t look at it! I’ve also tried to imagine the dress & realised that one of the reasons I have picked this is that we are having a summer wedding with loads of sunflowers etc by a lake – so quite summery & outdoory hopefully (Scotland permitting!!) whereas my original wedding idea had been a more formal autumn wedding in a old house… so the dress fits with this plan 🙂
