The red tie will certainly distinguish him! Is there ANY red in your ensemble, or are you all in ivory? If there's no red, it will look a bit funny to have the groom in a color that doesn't correspond to anything you're wearing. Are the shirts white or ivory?
My FI and his guys will all be wearing the same thing. He is going to be wearing a different boutonniere though.

I have had about 3 weeks to think about it since doing our tux fittings, and we are going in this weekend to make the final decision. I never realized until we went in, that the groom usually wears something different than the rest of the guys. Makes sense, but I just never picked up on that in pictures!!! Ah CRAP!
Our colours are very very light blue and a deep red. The girls dresses are a really light blue and they're carrying all dark red roses. The guys bouts are also red roses and they're wearing black tuxes with black vests.
My fiancee REALLY wants to wear a red tie. We tried on ivory and it just doesn't suit his skin tone. So with him in a red tie, we tried the others in blue ties and that just didnt do it for me at all. I think with two colours, one has to be a colour and one a non-colour (black, white, silver, ivory).
So with my fiancee in a red tie, what do I do with the rest of them? My dad is wearing dark grey so thats out. Will black ties on them look silly with the girls in baby blue? Or do they wear solid red ties and my fiancee in a patterened one or vice versa?
Do you bees have any ideas on what else I could do to distinguish my man while still letting him wear his red tie? This has been harder than picking out THE DRESS!
