Hi lovely little bees!!! I’m normally a bit of a wallflower and just use the boards for ideas and inspiration but today I’m having a mini panic attack because I finally sealed the deal on a dress!! I made a Frankenstein dress which is the top 3/4 of Ines Di Santo Elisavet (the blush one with the more severe lace) and the bottom of Ines Di Santo Airlia (the softer mermaid shown with the bolero in the image below.) I’m super nervous that I’m making the wrong decision because I just wanted to be done dress shopping (I’ve been looking since February of this year aka 6 months!) I’m not that girl who is going to get “the feeling” when trying on a dress. This was the closest I’ve felt to “the feeling.” So it’s not true REALLY I won’t know when I know!
Anyhoo! I don’t love the big applique on the bottom of the Elisavet and want a skirt that is softer or more ethereal. This was probably the 100th dress I’ve tried and I feel like I’ve seen EVERYTHING.
What do you bees think? Should I make the change to the Elisavet skirt to Airlia, leave it the way it is, or change it to a different skirt?

partypep: they look like very similar silhouettes, so I think swapping out the skirt part will look fine!

I think just ordering without the appliqué at the bottom of the skirt would do a lot (is that an option?) but I love the flowy look of the second dress, so as long as there won’t be any kind of harsh line at the skirt transition, go for it!

I like the lines of the original skirt better. If they can just not put on the applique, would that be okay with you? Will they charge you more, for not putting it on, even though they save $ by not attaching it? I’d imagine that changing the skirt might cost a substantial amount of money.

partypep: The dress is absolutely stunning! I am so in love with the Airlia, it is my dream dress – I just can’t afford it. I think the changes that you made are lovely and bold. It should be beautiful. Please post the end result. Also, if you decide to sell it for the right price – I would totally buy it!

partypep: have you gotten the dress in yet? You’ve basically created my dream dress! DYING to see the end result. I’m sure it’s stunning.
