So, I’m loving being engaged, and I was looking around for things I like (including dresses of course) when I came across one I fell in love with. Problem is, I’m not getting married for another year and a half!! The dress is an auction that finishes in two days, so it’s not like I can just get it later if I want.
A few things here:
1. Alterations are not a problem for me. I have a family friend that designs dresses and she offered to alter mine for free. So I’m not worried about it not fitting after a year and half or anything
2. Yes, I’m on a strict budget. The dress is an insane deal, so that’s another factor.
3. I haven’t actually tried on any dresses yet!!! BUT I KNOW for a FACT that this type of dress looks great on my body type. I already have like three like it because it’s so flattering on me.
What should I do? My MOH really thinks I should get it, and she’s like “You can just sell if you don’t like it!” Well, easier said than done! What do you guys think?
Oh and here’s the dress just for fun in case you wanted to see 🙂
Oh my god that detailing

Nothing wrong with it! I’m a sucker for Good deal! I bought mine the data after getting engaged, we didn’t even have a date picked out yet. I say go for it!!

I’m *planning* on getting married in September of 2016 (though it may be pushed up to Spring 2016 within the next few weeks if things with my FI go well) and just submitted my payment for my custom-made gown.
Go for it – you know yourself best.

I already have mine, and my wedding is 11 months away. The only thing I would caution about, and I see this a lot on wb is getting it, and then seeing others you like better. I think it’s gorgeous, though, and if it’s a good deal, I would say go for it.

That looks so well made, and looks like silk satin or duchesse satin. You can’t do better. I love it, it’s so classic. I say if you know you can wear a box pleat, go for it! ( I can wear this style dress but I can’t pull off a front box pleat, so that’s why I’m mentioning it.)

I say go for it! It’s a beautiful dress and you know you like the sillouette. If you find out you don’t like it you can probably sell it (worst case senario). A good deal is a good deal. Biggest word of advice is once you find it, stop looking.

What day is your wedding?! 🙂
I got engaged in September, booked my date 3 weeks later, and ordered my dress two weeks ago! It won’t be in until February, but I also have a year and a half until my wedding. When you know it’s your dress, jump on it! But then stop looking! Yay!
