i like the second picture much better, but both are really cute
Ahh... I hate to say this because of how labor intensive this project is, but the rafia/ribbon combo is incredible! It definitely has that wow factor. The belly band looks a little out of place.
Is there anyway you could get a your friends together & you could tackle this project as a group? Crack open a bottle of wine & have some delicious appetizers and desserts & go to town on those invites!

I ordered my STD's from an online company and love the way they look. But, as a creative person, I really wanted to (more like NEED to) add my own personal touch to them. So, I decided I wanted to add some sort of belly band or ribbon bow, etc. I first did a combo of organza ribbon and raffia (which i heart big time) but seriously- this is an overly ambitious project. I spent 1 1/2 hours last night on them and got 11 done...only 80 more to go! So then I decided I wanted to do a simple ribbon band running across the horizontal center of the STD & the separate hotel info enclosure. Simple right? Well, since my ribbon is organza (and the color is PERFECT so the ribbon cannot change! besides, Michael's doesn't have a grosgrain ribbon in the same shade of pink), it's sheer. So, not only do the ends fray, but the fabric glue I bought ends up looking messy on it and I can't get a clean finish:( Does anyone have any suggestions/advice on how to do this? Or do I just give up and wait to adorn the actual invitations?
