Ok, so I am not getting married until August of 2011 and did not think I would be buying my dress for a few more months. I went shopping for the first time a couple of weeks ago at Priscilla of Boston and found what I think is my dream dress. However, being that I did not want to buy my dress after only looking at 1 store, I was going to wait and try on dresses at a few more stores. Then of course Priscilla calls me and tells me about a private sale where I would get 20% off my dress this weekend. I had already made appointments at two bridal stores on Saturday before I got this call. Naturally I just don’t think I can pass up this sale. So I decided I am going to go to those two appts and I also made an additional appointment at another store Friday afternoon. With those three appointments, I will have gone to every store I had planned on looking at in my area. So if I don’t find a dress I love as much as the first one (which I love so much I have been having dreams about it!), I think I will be buying my dress at my appt with Priscilla on Sunday. Ahhh so excited but so nervous!!! What do you think of my possible dress?

I love it and if you can get it on sale why not? Congrats on your engagement!

I’m getting married at the end of July 2011 and I purchased my dress last month. It’ll take 8 months to come in so I am not concerned I ordered too soon. But, I am very cognizant of the “don’t continue to look at or shop for dresses after you purchase yours” rule.
As for your dress, I think it’s lovely! I don’t know what kind of wedding you are having, but I think it’s perfect for anything from a formal ballroom to a garden wedding. I am sure you’ll be very happy with this dress. It’s simple without being too simple (mine doesn’t have bling either) and has a classic and elegant silhouette. LOVE the natural waist. You’ll be stunning 🙂

I love the dress, very pretty! Kind of funny though as I went to the Mpls. Priscilla of Boston store this last Fri. and they called me Mon. to tell me about their “secret” sale for 20% off, makes me wonder if they call everyone and say that after they had an appointment but didn’t buy the dress they loved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice store and great designer. I just thought it was kind of funny that I got that same call:) Good luck regardless!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the reassurance!
Gizmo19- I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they did that (I worked many years in retail before I became an attorney so I know the drill) but hey, if it gets me 20% off my dress, then I am all for it
