I couldn't find anything about the airplane hanger, but I'm going to keep looking! I did find a site that listed some barn options in Michigan:

My sister went to a wedding last summer at Cobblestone Farms and said it was awesome.

I'm just chiming in to say how much I love the idea of using an airplane hanger! So creative (and biased I am....my fiance is a pilot). Wish they had something like that where I'm from!
It seems like I remember when Detroit hosted the Superbowl a few years ago there was a big party being held at the hangar at the Detroit City Airport on the east side..I remember seeing pictures in a magazine and it looked really cool (although the neighborhood is iffy)..don't have any contact details though...
You may also want to check the Nomads hangar at Detroit Metro airport...they are a private travel club who may be willing to rent out their facility

I'm sorry I can't help you find those locations, but I have to comment on how awesome airplane hangar weddings are! Ahh... we have travel/airplane touches all over our wedding & I'd LOVE to find a location like that. I've contacted every hangar in the area & I got a no from all of them. I'm jealous!

There is a hanger in troy on coolidge. (actually you can see if from Coolidge but I think it's off one of the side streets) I know there was a few parties that have been held there. It's just south of Maple. Hopefully this helped a bit
Hey this sounds like an awesome idea - ever find anything on hangar rental? My fiance is a pilot and would probably LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea!

Someone was telling me there is an airplane hanger someone had bought and renovated and rents it out for parties. I have tried to find it and can't find it ANYWHERE! I am really interested in seeing this. I also was wondering if anyone knows about any barns besides cobblestone farms in ann arbor? This is pretty much the first thing my fiance has been real excited about the whole wedding planning so I'm realy trying to find something!
